page 5 of 8 wfxxt ver .10 april.2010 functional description product characterization standard values of nominal resistance are taken fro m the e96 & e24 series for resistors with a toleran ce of 1%, 0.5%, 0.25%, 0.1%, 0.05%. the values of the e24/e96 series are in acco rdance with iec publication 60063. derating the power that the resistor can dissipate depends o n the operating temperature; see fig.2 figure 2. maximum dissipation in percentage of rate d power as a function of the ambient temperature mounting due to their rectangular shapes and small tolerance s, surface mountable resistors are suitable for han dling by automatic placement systems. chip placement can be on ceramic substrates and pri nted-circuit boards (pcbs). electrical connection to the circuit is by individu al soldering condition. the end terminations guarantee a reliable contact.
